Aliases and overrides

I was somewhat surprised to find that setting an override on an alias (ie, the alias itself vs. the aliased object) does not propagate.  The alias shows as being in override, but the aliased object doesn't.

Jeff, if I were to try to work up a patch to have an alias going into override instead override the "true" object, would you be interested in merging it - or is this behavior by design?
